Edward J. Bierly
artist for the 1956, 1963, and 1970 duck stamps died in his home in Lorton, Virginia May 24, 2004. For the past 20 years, Ed had been a cancer survivor, which reoccurred approximately a year ago. Bierly was one of the most accomplished duck stamp artists, having three stamp designs to his credit. His three wins place him in a distinctive Duck Stamp Club, of which only himself, Stanley Stearns, Jim Hautman, and five-time winner Maynard Reece are co-members.
